Buck Rogers: Countdown to doomsday

I want the original 2 disks that let you either install to 3 blank disks or the a HD. I don't want a cracked version either. I want them so i can do a HD install. The WHDload version just crashes on me within less then 5sec quite consistantly. I don't care to discuss the problems with the WHDload version i just want the 2 original disks.

EDIT
offhand i don't know how i plan to get past the copy protection, i'm hoping i'll remember a few of them when i see what it asks for lol. Currently also digging around for a PDF of it.

nah i'm looking for the 1990 version. Well i think it was 1990 anyway, i just remember that they forced you to install to either 3 blank disks or the HD, its been a great many years.(over 10) on a side note i have picked up a PDF of the log book now. I do remember that to even use the disks for either install you HAD to boot up the first one. In workbench they simply read as NODOS.

honestly i'm really not sure its been far too many years. If the 2 are all that different graphically wise just point me to screenshots, i can very easily identify it from those. If not then i dont know what to say, i'll just go for the 1990 version.

SSI version on HOL, linked to is the one I had back in the day.
I had the original of this one, never made a save disk though as I had an A590.

One of my favorites, . I cant stand those type of games, but this one, I dont know why, I thought it was awesome. Boarding ships and jury rigging damaged systems, great fun, .

hmmn glancing over the screenshot in the hol, it was the SSI version that i played all those years ago. Which according to the hol appears to be the 1990 release

IPF is just a disk format : http://www.softpres.org/glossary:ipf
mai means that you're looking for the original, rather than a cracked version.

hmmn offhand yes i was after original uncracked ones(i thought i said that in the original post?) Though i know nothing of IPF format.

I do remember having an actual box to the game back then, and the disks had white text on them of some sort, can't remember what it actually said.

If you need any original unmodified image, then IPF is your solution.

ADFs created from the IPFs and the preinstalled disks are in the zone.

alright, thank you. Offhand i think the game rejects higher workbenchs so i may have to use ADFs to play. I'll try a HD install anyway, but i don't think it'll go well.

ugh it looks like i'll have to do a assign command to get it work off the HD(ends up asking for disk 2 right away). I always end up screwing up stuff like this, what a pain.

I've just pulled my copy off the shelf (original) comes with a full novel, First Power Play by John Miller and a Data Card that states:

"Before Beginning Play: You will have to install the game onto a set of three floppy disks, or a hard drive, uising the 'Install' utility on 'Disk One'."

On the back of the card it says (C) 1990 Strategic Simulations, Inc. (C) 1990 TSR, Inc. (C) 1990 The Dille Family Trust.

It also does not have disk copy protection, just a verification question from the Rule Book or Log Book.

So I guess this is the version you are looking for?
