If you are talking about the PCI Slots then 3 is 32 bit and 4 is 64bit

The 4 will still fit in the Mediator just the last part is left over hanging

I think the fine pitch headers for the PMC module are meant.

There are carriers (and PMC cards) with 3 and others with 4 headers. I'd suspect that this is about 32 vs. 64 bits nonetheless.

You can even see it correlate with the PCI connector.

Is it actually confirmed that the Sonnet library works with the A3640?

I have just received a reply from Elbox that says that executing from Zorro III memory only works with Cyberstorms and "other accelerators".

Pretty sure I have read on here about someone else using the Sonnet library with A3640s?

Thanks for your confirmation. Must be some weird Mk. I limitation. I have asked Elbox if they can sell me some upgraded MACHs (unlikely) to get it working with my A3640.

I will also test this on my Prometheus Firebird when I get the replacement CPLDs...

Welp, sorry, I meant Prometheus Firestorm. I have a repro of the original Prometheus.

Yeah, one of the CPLDs is broken: it overheats and it's not detected by Quartus.

So it turns out that the Mediator 4000di Mk. I is *actually* incompatible with the A3640 - it just can't execute anything from ZorroIII-mapped memory addresses.

I have finally tested my system with a CyberstormPPC (which was lent to me thanks to EAB user @reflex) and I could execute stuff from the Mediator memory without any issue. Which also solves my troubles with the Sonnet library and the Killer M1.

I will also send a message to @gsoravil as he has been having the same issues with his Mk. I for almost as long as me I hope that this info will be useful to other users.
