Since purchasing a new accelerator for the 4000D is out of question (even 040s are going for crazy money), my best bet is to wait for Matze's accelerator and build one of those when they are available - I will have to live without a PowerPC card for a while, but that's okay. At least now I know my little 4000 is fine |

It was my pleasure jbenam, i guess that my 3640 is not compatible too with my mediator, i just wasn't aware as i always use my CSPPC in my Amiga 4000.
It's quite curious that we live in the same city but we met on an English amiga forum for the first time! |

To add fuel to this fire: My recapped, nicely working A3000 got an A3660 board from amigastore.eu, still working fine - then added the MNT ZZ9000 and on 3rd boot got the 8000 0004 guru error, and thereafter. So then- it's an A3660/MNT ZIII slot hardware issue....?
Anyone ask Lukas Hartmann what he thinks (@minut_e on twitter) ? |

The A3640/A3660 most certainly does something weird when it comes to be able to access Zorro III addressed memory space.
Elbox has somehow fixed it in the Mediator Mk. II, it might be that Lukas needs to implement such a fix as well? Are you using the Zorro III RAM function? |

Sorry for the necro-bump, but I just had a discovery of my own after being tipped off by this thread. Jbenam had worked with me on a similar problem in another thread where I was getting the dreaded 8000 0004 errors on my A3000 when using Roadshow. I followed the ZorroIII path and started pulling cards. Sure enough, my GVP ECS Spectrum video card had a ZorroII/III jumper - which I tried - and surprise surprise no more memory errors. It's still only minutes from that discovery, so anything could change - but I just wanted to drop a note here for anyone experiencing issues like this. Try to test your Zorro cards and make sure there's no memory compatibility issues there. |
