Kickstart ROM Identification

Sorry guys - another "newbie" question from me !

You have to remember, I only knew A500's and A600's !

I'm thinking of buying an Amiga 1200, and I must be buying one from somebody who doesn't really know what he's selling ! It has a HD and he cannot get the "Insert disk" screen showing. I would like to know if this is a KS3.0 or a KS3.1 Amiga. It has the WB3.1 disks & manuals with it so I presume it is. Anyway, this is what is displayed when he inserted the WB3.1 disk:

The version of Kickstart is 40.68
The version of workbench is 40.42
and it also displays ..............
(C) 1985 - 1993 Commodore-Amiga inc

Can anyway tell me what version of KS this has if it displays the above ?

In workbench's about window the rom version is clearly stated on the title

40.68 should be an 3.1 one.

Anyway, MAKE SURE this is NOT an Escom/Amiga Technologies Amiga. You surely DON'T want that.

I think the brand badge didn't say Commodore in Escom machines...

Cheers guys,

You have to remember I cannot see this Amiga, and I'm dealing with a seller who obviously never used the computer, and doesn't seem to know anything about computers !

They've told me the badge on the front says Commodore so that should be OK.

I cannot wait to get properly into the Amiga again and relearn everything I've forgotten, plus the AGA/KS>2.0 stuff that I missed
