A4000 keyboard: space bar not working

I have an A4000 keyboard and ALL keys work fine, except the space bar. It doesn't work. Is this fixable? Anyone know?

I removed the exterior housing of the keyboard but the keyboard itself looks to be one big piece...

thanks
Darren

Open it up, tons of little screws inside, and clean it..

If the black rubber contact under the space bar key stem is shiny, wipe it with some normal 80g copier paper until it doesn't shine. The PCB/membrane itself can be cleaned of dust with a moist kitchen paper towel, dry carefully afterwards.

I normally use cotton buds and rubbing alcohol when I'm cleaning the rubber pads on joysticks/controllers - give all the black pads a good going over while you're in there.

The same stuff you put in your printer. Normal office paper.

Be very gentle when tightening them, it's easy to strip the threads in the key switch tray.

Keyboard fixed! I removed everything as you said and it was very clear there was lots of "gunk" around the space bar area. I cleaned the entire surface with isopropyl alcohol and put everything back together and the space bar now works!

Thanks for your advice!
