good to hear, thank you.
Approximately how many demos did you test in the first pack?

That 1st pack I tested was:

Flash Disk Packdisk release series ... http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/series.php?id=79

I didn't count but it says 91 issues x approx. 9 to 10 demos per pack = between 800 to 900 demos!

That's a lot.

nightly:
fix Devils-NoReality.adf: expects disk sync interrupt when FDC is idle but floppy engine is on
edit: the glitches at left/right side in some parts of the demo happen at real hardware too.

fix NGC_TNOM.adf ... The Nature of Magic: support ADF with less than 80 tracks

Whats the matter here in: Humanoids-Compact19.adf ... F2
do you mean the two circles (for a very short time) in the lower left part of the picture at the beginning of the monocycle scenes?

Yes, something glitches for a short time just before monocycle shows up!
(I didn't notice this when comparing on WinUAE!)

EDIT: After testing in WinUAE again it seems that something is glitching here also! (seems probably not a problem then, or need to be tested also on a real machine)

I used the same pack a year or so ago when testing WinUAE! (denise showed less problems)

Edit: In the meantime, I continue testing the other pack! (so far no problems found)

Nice!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ps. If I can make a little suggestion...

If I were you, I would skip now:

08) Syncronize_CPU_to_display problem!
09) Other!
11) Glitches if performance and/or runAhead is enabled in the emu
(this one is more for info anyway)

and focused on the following ones: 12)...18)! (maybe they seem a little simpler at the moment and more desirable, at least to me)

BigMarcPack38.adf ... F4: TSL/Lethal
At the end part with cooper effect the bottom scroller jumps a few times!
(in "The Zone")(A500 1.3 512 +512)

Note:
Also, there is some problem with a music in demo disappearing while running a TSL/Lethal as solo .adf file!
(but seems not problem when running from above pack disk in denise!?)
(on winuae there is sound problem with both files; solo or pack disk!?)

Of course, I benefit a lot from the existing knowledge that has been acquired over the years, especially from Toni.

I'm not sure if it's worth the risk of damaging the only remaining machine! (let Toni check on his) EDIT: Reported in problematic demos thread!

I didn't even doubt it, it was obvious from the beginning! (Edit: It was obvious that you learned a lot!)

Edit: But the way how Denise renders picture is something different from winuae! (and I like that the most in Denise)
(enhances the feeling of a real machine and not an emulator)

Edit: The question arises: Can the student surpass the teacher? (otherwise there would never be progress)

BigMarcPack40.adf ... F4
The blue bottom text "Bytebeast" glitches!
(in "The Zone")(A500 ECS 1.3 512 +512)

How it should look: http://kestra.exotica.org.uk/files/s.../4000/846b.png

EDIT: Hmm, it does not happen in OCS! (so ECS effect probably)

I made some more detail test from other pack disk too about the music problem! (In the Zone!)

Code:
Lethal (Demo) by The Special Brothers http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=1070
tested on denise_win64_build_00d9a9b (13.07.2023):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Denise configuration: Denise 1.3 ECS 512+512 Denise 1.3 ECS 512
(after hard reset) (after hard reset)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From creaated adf:
------------------
TSB-LethalC.adf - - (it returns to CLI)
					+ (if started from CLI)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From pack disks:
----------------
Angels-CompactDisk05.adf - +
Awesome-CriminallyInsane09.adf - +
BigMarcPack38.adf + - (it returns to CLI)
BJ-DemoLibDisk046.adf + -
LSD-AddictionPack050.adf + - (not possible to enter into menu)
PowerXtreme-DemosPack4.adf + -
Rebels-DizzyDream07.adf + +
SCOOPEX-RangerPack136.adf + + (update: it works)
Treacl-DreamPack3.adf + + (weird 1st sounds)
TRSI-TuffStuff15.adf + +
TSB-InternPack36.adf - +
TSB-Luxpack03.adf - - (emu problem after hard reset?)
UFO-DemoPack.adf + +
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+ = work
- = not work
EDIT: Update for SCOOPEX-RangerPack136.adf in 1.3 ECS 512 only config: it works!

Ps. For winuae same test see here: https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...postcount=1013

NOTE: "TSB-Luxpack03.adf" behaves differently in 1.3 ECS 512 config on denise emu in comparison to winuae emu! (denise problem?)

can you please create a note (link to posting is enough) for this in the posting with all open problems. In this way, nothing is lost.

It is created now under: 21) Music disappearing problem!

(before it was under 17) Scroller jumping! ... but scrolling jumping was confirmed on a real machine, so it is not anymore a problem - read Edit in the new created 21) problem)

I was scanning my computer for virus and got this!

PS- It must because it doesn't know the software and then it creates a false positive

My CI service provider AppVeyor builds the binaries. I think they can't afford to have compromised software distributed.

nightly
fix Upfront-CoolFridge.adf ... Smooth Copper
don't need a hack for bplcon1, but need one to delay the Copper color change

fix Ozone-ShedTearsA.adf, FLD-Demodisk047.adf (glitch in bottom right part happens on real one too), FLD-Demodisk090.adf

Can you send me the following ADF.
BRS-PrimusDemo.adf
Mexx-Intro92x.adf
Mexx-Plasma.adf

edit: new nightly
fix D (1993)(Essence).adf (ECS inhibits sprites a CCK later than OCS)
fix VF&Bey-CrCaptainFizz.ad (on A1000 line 0 isn't a equ line)

It is already there (near bottom) in "The Zone"!
Look under 2.4. Invalid refresh rates.7z

Good job done on fixing all those issues!

In ECS Agnus on a real machine or Winuae it is possible to change between PAL 50Hz and NTSC 60Hz screen from software.
Some pack disks have a boot block with option to change between 50Hz or 60Hz screen. Also Amiga Test Kit has same option: https://github.com/keirf/Amiga-Stuff/releases
EDIT: For example "Anathema-NeSouthEast65.adf" in the post #20 "02) Glitches on a whole screen or partly!" has a such boot screen also! (and probably some others)

For the BRS-PrimusDemo problem...
According to Problematic demos thread: https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...&postcount=194
Quote from Toni: It creates invalid refresh rates to simulate TV losing sync when it switches screens (rotates vertically = old CRTs, blanks the display on LCDs..)
-> invalid refresh rate -> result is undefined -> emulation is fine

Yes.
Basically, OCS Agnus can do that too. B.C. Kid does something similar. Ok, I'll see what's different here. I guess I've never tested the ECS way "beamcon" of doing something like that.

Have you ever looked at the real CRT? I think it looks quite similar in Denise.

No, but I have noticed that it behaves better in Denise than in WinUAE.

I assume then that this is not a problem.

Not really in OCS (without changing the chip version) as far as I can tell.
In WinUAE does not change between PAL 50Hz / NTSC 60Hz in OCS (only in ECS) and that is correct.

EDIT: According to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS_Technology_Agnus
only 8372A - Amiga 500 from Rev 6 (NTSC/PAL) Agnus supports switching from software.

Now it depends on which chip version you use for emulation! (so maybe not a problem if 8375 Agnus is supported in Denise as can be switched from System menu)

ECS Agnus which can address up to 1 MB of Chip RAM
8375 (318069-16 only) (PAL) - Amiga 500 from Rev 6 (PAL)
8375 (318069-17 only) (NTSC) - Amiga 500 from Rev 6 (NTSC)

ECS Agnus which can address up to 2 MB of Chip RAM
8375 (PAL) - Amiga 500 Plus; Amiga 600 (PAL)
8375 (NTSC) - Amiga 600 (NTSC)

I assume that this is also not a problem then and Denise is correct.
