I've tried both MiraWizARC and PackMast (both included with the wonderful ClassicWB) to extract these LZX files but neither work, nothing happens etc

WizARC handles LZX files just fine, I tried it a minute ago. Keep in mind that it is just a frontend, and not the extractor itself, though. To work with LZX files, you need the LZX executable in your c: and the keyfile in the correct place.

aha! having the executable and keyfile makes sense.. however for some unknown reason it seems to be working fine now (I didn't touch anything, honest!) stupid machine does this sometimes... Refuses to do something then works fine when I try again 2hrs later and I'm in a better mood
