Embryo [English] (Retroplay pack)
Hi,
Recently, Embryo installs were reuploaded, apparently. Version De, Fr and Hr all run, but the English one asks for Disk 1 right at the beginning. A missing file on the install, maybe? |

Game must be extracted on (emulated) Amiga to Amiga file system to preserve file attributes.

There are 2 weird things about this.
1) The reupload is exactly the same as the current. Exact byte for byte the same. (Version 1.1 of the new slave for the updated Embryo version is not done , yet) 2) As soon as you copy the game to another drive it wont work anymore. Lets say you extract the Archive to RAM: and then copy it to DH1:Games/E It dosent work anymore. You can move it withing the Drive you orginally extracted it too, for example from RAM: to RAM:Games/example ... but as soon you copy it to any other drive (DH1:GAMES/E) it dosent work anymore. Never seen this before So, my tipp would be to stick to the Embryo version you already have (because nothing changed) |

It works fine on my real A600 and A1200 but complains of a corrupt file if I try to run the lha file on the A500 mini.

As I said, all files have to be kept on Amiga formatted drive.
File attributes in this game is a bitch to deal with. Ransom also had issues making an HDF, he inserted lha into DF0: in WinUAE for direct file copy, this also breaks it. Make a folder and mount it as a HD volume and stuff the lhas into that and extract files to Amiga formatted HDF inside emulation, that way it wont break. And yes, new lha is the same as the old, I only replaced the old icon with a better one. |

Like i wrote above: as soon as you copy the extracted files to another location, it no longer works. Same on Real Hardware, FPGA and Winuae. Extract the LHA to the drive/location you will use it in the end; dont copy it !!! Really weird |

Nothing weird.
Some programs has path or partial paths saved in exe file, or other data location. F.e Reunion HD. |
