Pistorm RTG on traditional 15 pins Amiga monitor

Hi !

How would you guys go about displaying an RTG picture on a traditional DB15 monitor ? (1083, 1084 and the like)

As far as I understand, there is no option but HDMI to output RTG from Pistorm, which isn´t a bad starting point since it's purely digital and lossless and 640*480*24 should be supported by both HDMI and the monitor.

From there, there is plenty HDMI to VGA adapter on the market to get an analog RGB signal. Not sure how good they can be (as in butchering signal quality and adding lag ?)

And from that point, how would you go from VGA to whatever RGB signal the monitor would expect ? Closest I could find was a Mister to 1084 adaptor, but they stress that they only guarantee compatibility from a Mister and other sources could not work.

Or would you go a different route altogether ?

RaspberryPi's have composite video out. But I'm not sure if PiSTorm FW can route RTG through composite video out?

No. 1084 etc only supports TV resolutions. 240p/480i (NTSC) and 288p/576i (PAL)

They output the wrong horizontal frequency 31KHz and 1084 only accepts 15KHz.

You can't.

Just buy a used TV with both HDMI and RGB SCART inputs. Connect the native Amiga to SCART and PiStorm RTG to HDMI. Job done.

Right, so as of now there is no easy way to do so. Thank you for your answer !

And to answr your question: to the best of my knowledge, there is currently no way to output RTG through the composite output.

There are vga -> 15kHz adapters out there from times of old, but the image quality is absolutely terrible and you'll be looking at interlaced flickery blurry mess.

As others have answered it's more about the video output than the video connector
