Reliving my Pro-Tracker Days :)
This weekend I finally got around to completing my A1200 tower setup, pretty Ghetto at the moment with cables hanging out the back, but it worked!. My main intent for this is to write a protracker tune for the forthcoming Sundown demo party, which at last I shall be attending this year. I'm pleased to find that my old way of thinking when writting tunes in protracker hasn't been lost, forward thinking to the elements you are writting and the restrictions you have with only 4 channels. Now I'm just hoping the file size restriction wont be too low as my samples are pretty high quality (or an amiga anyway).
ProTracker, simply the best! Anyone else actually writting any new mods these days? |

Just got hold of an Amiga again and am waiting for some stuff, before I can use it. Am aching to use ProTracker again, though. Haven't got any of my old samples anymore, so will have to look for the ST collections and use the good old hallbrass, etc
Never made it to any parties back in the day - too shy, I guess. Where's Sundown at? Last edited by slk486; 04 May 2010 at 14:58. |

I am going the same way.
I recently re-installed Protracker in my 2MB A600 and am going at it. I see how my new experience on music making has changed, actually, the way I cope with Protracker. I feel I use it a lot better than I did when I was a teen! I plan to release a musicdisk this year. I also imposed myself one limitation: to use only the ST-XX disks for samples, trying to make them sound the best possible without making the archetypical Amiga MOD from the 90s [ Show youtube player ] 1.3 baby! xD |

I've been trying to get to grips with Ableton live on the pc to do what I used to do with Protracker, basically sort out a drums, bass and keyboard backing track that I can do some guitar widdling over the top of. Unfortunately, I found Protracker a lot easier to understand and work with. Maybe I'll work it out. |

I use Ableton Live on occasion, but I feel I'd really need a midi keyboard to have the control that I would like and I don't feel at home in it. Used Fasttracker on PC a lot in the late nineties, which had the same layout and controls as Protracker. I felt at home in that
Can't wait to use Protracker again. |

Ableton Live is the ONLY software I can use besides a tracker. It's really good stuff, specially for live performance, where a tracker is much more limited. |
