Smile WHDLoad Heimdall custom1 tooltype

Hi all,

first of all happy new year and the best for you and your families.

I am sorry to be a noob on the subject but could someone explain to me how I am supposed to save my game in Heimdall?

How exactly can I configure the custom1 tooltype? Could you post an example if I need to save in my DH1 HDD partition?

Thx !

Thks!

By the way, I am running on a real classic amiga (Blizzard 1230) and Heimdall behaves strangely when asked to save : my mouse does not react anymore. I guess it is due to the custom1 not configured correctly, I hope a solution can be found!

Thanks for your help!

Don't really know what's so hard to understand here, use CUSTOM1=x, x = number of the (virtual) disk you want to use for your saves. E.g. CUSTOM1=5 -> disk.5 will be used as save disk. I never tried the slave before and managed to understand how the CUSTOM1 tooltype works without any problem.

Also tried creating ADF's and putting a path to those but thought that was incorrect anyway.

Unless you can offer a more detailed guide?

@Fitzy

I got it working here on my 4000D.

Custom1=5

Goto save game without a floppy in the drive and after a few clicks and clunks - I have a Disc.5 image in the same directory as the original game.

Quit game and then restart the game and select load game - ignore the request for game disc and lo and behold it loads the Disk.5 image up.

I don't think you did that because it would have worked then. 0-4 doesn't make sense since the game uses 4 disks so I bet you only tried CUSTOM1=0...4 and NOT 5. There was a reason why I used 5 in my post above, that's the first number you can use for the game to use as save disk.

So, use CUSTOM1=x and x must be greater than 4 and it will work.

Hi guys,

Still stuck on this Heimdall save issue.

Mouse frozen, no save even if the custom tootype is correctly defined.

And I still cannot try it on WinUAE, it crashes (black screen on the options menu).

Someone?

Thx!

@Pichemula

Just tried this again - no problems here.

What I did notice (which I missed before) was that it was my external floppy (DF2) that made the clunks and clicks

Hi guys,

finally solved the problem!

Heimdall is the only soft I know which is incompatible with a cocolino mouse!

I managed to grab an amiga mouse and I can finally move my pointer while on the save screen. It had nothing to do with the custom tool afterall...
What a strange behaviour...

Thx,

Picha
