Kickstart 2.x > Amiga 500 ?

Quick question this one,

I have upgraded my A1500 from kickstart 2.x to 3.1.

Can i also upgrade my A500 from 1.3 to 2.x with the
kickstart which i took out of my A1500 ?

I think this is a yes.....but i just want to be sure......

Install a kickstart switch

It's not that bad, I used to live with an a500+ for years, and there were only ~3-4 games that didn't work at all.

It depends on the game, alot of games dont care what Kickstart you run them on, but SOME did, and in that instance you have a kickstart switcher - as burseg said.

but now I got several A500's and i dont worry :P

All depends on what you want to use a Kickstart 2.x Amiga for. If it's for games, then plain degrading will run most stuff, otherwise a romswitcher with 1.3 is the 100% solution.

If the use is something a bit more than games, then Kickstart 2.x and Workbench 2.1 gives the user the power of datatypes.......which in my book is a very good reason to upgrade from Kickstart 1.3.

Besides, a a500 with 2.0will be more compatible than an a500+ since it has 512k chip + 512k fast (slow?) ram unlike 500+, which makes the + even more incompatible
