Delete key that deletes in Workbench

Is it possible to use the Delete key to delete files in Workbench (3.9 BB4).

I know THE does allow this, but I use toolsdaemon and prefer to keep it and whenever I run both THE and Toolsdaemon I get recoverable alerts.

And yes I've set up DOpus 4 and 5 to do it, but I want a way that doesn't rely on a filemanager, only Workbench.

Did you try looking on aminet?
A search for delete throws up 2 pages of potential programs. One of them must be suitable.

DDNI-yeah thats the problem, was hoping with such a common thing- a "Delete" key that y'know, deletes, I though it would be built in to Workbench but I didn;t know about it, or at least someone had tried and could make a recommendation.

Thanks James.

I went through the aminet search for "delete key" and found only ONE utility "ClipAid'lha" that sounded it would fit the bill, but turned out it only functions when entering commands in a shell. Amazing.

I'll give it a go tonight.

Is this with BB4 0.9w? I have been running ToolsDaemon 2.2 alongside THE for several weeks now on such a system and have had no issues. I suspect you are using an older BB4 version.

It is but its not THE and TD conflicting, beacsue the same recoverable alert is happening with THE removed from WBStartup.

It IS however SOMETHING in BB4 and something in WBStartup drawer triggers it. Doesn't not happen in BB3

What happens is that on booting, the WBStartup items get loaded up, I see its loading Benchtrash, and then I get the recoverable alert, returns back to Workbench and hangs with the wait pointer.

I'm in the process of removing WBStartup items and removing "Ghost...." has stopped the recoverable alerts, for now.
