Bill's Tomato Game.

I've never been more infuriated by a boss so much.

The game itself is great, but the last boss is stupidly hard which ruins it.

Also, any boss in SWORD. Crap game, crap bosses. All far too hard.

I know there are a lot, but I can't remember them now...
Well, at least I have one I remember : The Lost Vikings. Not that hard, but having to fight him 4 times was quite annoying.

Oh well, i remember one. The fight against the flying dragon in Moonstone.
And one of the bosses in Rainbow Island ...and hell, yes, the fight against that UberBoss in Supremacy.

The Ancients in Diablo 2 Lod Hell difficulty with my sorceress. At least one of them is immune to her magic, and they keep spawning with the same 'impossible' mods on them. Argh

Ahh, boss fights.

A friend of mine summed up gaming in the 80s:

You're at the boss, trying your very best to stay alive. Your friend who's spectating shouts "Kill it! Kill it!" and between sobs, you manage to let out a feeble "I can't".

Bloodfest final boss took me 15 mins to beat. The tyrant beast at Draconus on C64 20 minutes.

Emerald Weapon in Final Fantasy VII.
If that bugger unleashes his Aire Tam Storm attack you're toast no matter how many HP you have.

Do'h.. forgot it was in Amiga history.

In that case, I'd say the final boss in Project-X.
If you don't have stealth activated it can be a pain in the behind.

I never even heard the term "boss" used in gaming until I started visiting EAB. It must be a European term or a "Nintendo generation" term, because in all my gaming experiences in the 80's I never once heard the term "boss". We just said things like, "Watch out! There's a big fucking guy at the end of the level!"

Anyway, the most frustrating has to be the big toe at the end of Shadow of the Beast. It takes a whole hour of straight playing with no chance of saving your position - and if you're extremely lucky to make it that far, you see a big frigging toe that kills you instantly.

The end boss in Chrono Trigger for the Snes is a very long and harsh battle! It's probably the hardest boss i've encountered in any game... and certainly the longest fight

That depends on what level your characters are at.
He's, or should I say it's, not that bad if you do some leveling up before fighting him/it.

In Phantasy Star Online, I soloed De Rol Le for fifty minutes and got killed. I never played the game again.

Bosses in Amiga games usually had patterns you could learn or safe spots you could stand. Some were pretty tough. I have no idea how anyone worked out how to beat the Italian singer in Soccer Kid, at least before the advent of WinUAE save states.

Mike Tyson in Punch Out beat the shit out of me everytime when I was a kid. Dracula in Castlevania was also a bitch. Don't remember any superhard boss fights from my Amiga/C64 days, the hard games such as Airwolf were impossible from the first second instead.
