:eek
I'm going crazy, for the last couple of days I've been trying to get Twinexpress over to my Amiga so I can transfer files between my Amiga & PC. I just can't get it to work. I've tried everything. I even bought network PC from Weird science, but that crashes when I load Sid up to transfer anything across. Aaarrrgh, Could anyone please help me out by sending me an Amiga disk with the following things on:- Twinexpress Diskwiz & anything else that may help me out. I'd pay for cost of disk & postage ( as long as it's not too expensive) I've got a serial connection & parallel connection between both computers, like I say I've tried everything. Thanx in advance to anyone who can help me out. I've got a 1200 with no extra drives. |

im interested in this question as well, as i want to transfer a whole heap of adf's to my amiga,
i haven't bought the cables yet, but i planned on using standard null modem cables between the pc and amiga i was gonna use a program called wartrans to transfer the adf files across to the amiga hard drive, then using another programme called adf2disk, so that i can copy the files back to a DD disk? sound ok? if you have enough memory on your 1200, u should be able to use wartrans to transfer the files into your ram? and then use adf2disk to transfer them to disk? im not sure about any of this, (its just what ive read on the web). u can get the files from aminet or bttr (back to the roots) http://www.back2roots.org/News/ not sure if this helps, buy hey worth a read anyways |

TwinExpress is utter shite.
Try PC2Am. It shows the PC's drives in DirOpus. i'll try and post it later for you, unless you can find it on the net somewhere. |

If you have a bootable Amiga Workbench disk and a nullmodem serial cable link, "Amiga Explorer" from Cloanto can do this for you. It's probably the best way to transfer disks to/from the Amiga.

I have found Cloano's pack to be too slow for my needs. I cant put it above 19200 baud, while I can get 115200 with TwinExpress.
Kheph, I'd be interested in looking at this PC2Am proggy. Does it work with a serial conenction? |

PC2AM
You can find PC2AM on aminet. It use both parallel or serial.
Then the PC'll be shown as a new device on your amiga, thus you can access ALL pc device from shell, workbench or any filemanager |

Very interesting... How speedy is this? I'll be using an A600, with 2MB of Chip, nothing else.

mmmh i don't know the exact tranfert rate but the doc tell 40kb/s 28kb/s it depend if you use parallel or serial. Anyway you're limited to the amiga serial/parallel port speed.
It also seems more you have a bigger CPU, faster is the transfert rate. I use it at 38400 and it runs fine, perhaps you can go higher if so, please let me know |

That's the problem I always stumble upon. TwinExpress might not be very user-friendly, flashy or whatever, but it is damn fast.
I really dont care if I can access the PC like if it was another drive, I know my Amiga well enough to not be afraid at all of Amiag DOS, even less feeling uncomfortable by using it I will give it a try, and if I cant get it up to 115200, I'll scrap it. |
