Xenon 2 CDTV painfully slow on CD32

So I tried playing Xenon 2 CDTV on my CD32 and I noticed a very weird glitch. Just when the shop comes up for the first time before the game starts, Colin's (that alien seller) speech samples take ages to load (easily 10 seconds till they get played - each!). The CD is fine, all my other games work without a single problem.

It's quite frustrating really. Anyone else had that problem?

all i can suggest to you is,re-burn the disc.using another brand.since the 32 wasn't really designed to read cdrs, also try using the track at once method.

It's a new original disc. I tried burning it on a Sony CD-R, it's exactly the same though. Does anyone have suggestions for a particular brand of CD-Rs? Verbatims don't work for me at all.

A bit of an old topic but can I ask what was it that you did to get it working?

He adjusted the laser power pot on the laser.

Basically he upped the power, as his laser has gone low emission.

Once tweaked, they can last days, months even years, .

Silly question, did you try cleaning the laser lens first?
