If you are trying to crack it, I would advise avoiding those Codemasters games with that phone-up-for-a-code system as there are several steps required to bypass the VC file (usually called VC). There is a hidden imploder file with 'CHFI' header that is depacked, then copylock runs, and if it fails it runs that phone system thing. To cleanly crack it requires a little patch to load the file, patch around the depacker, let the depacker run, patch the copylock etc. You should try simpler cracks to start with.

Cracks that modify the original files when there is no need are sloppy!

Oh yeah, don't think I mentioned this before, but I know all about the VC mechanism, I know about the Imploded data stored inside....... and I've defeated the protection on a handful of the Codies titles in the past.
