Wanted: 4000D Motherboard

Hi,

new here!

Have had a 4000D in storage for a couple of years (the battery had leaked prior to my ownership, but all was working fine). Now, when I try to boot, I variously get a Green or Yellow screen on bootup and so it seems the minor corrosion that had occured has now had a physical impact on chips/tracks.

If anyone has a working mobo going spare, I'd be very interested.

Thanks!

Yellow? isn't that CPU board error? Make sure it hasnt jumped out of its little socket =)

Green is chip ram. This is a normal SIMM usually. Make sure it too is in its little socket. heh

If all else fails, I'd love to buy that board from you. Don't throw it away in any case.

Yeah - tried all the knowledge-base suggestions I could find for these errors, but no positive result, unfortunately.

Deffo won't be throwing the board away as I was hoping for a repair-option or part-exchange for a working one.

Will certainly let you know if I get a replacement and when I'll be selling it...

Cheers!

You can probably sent it to amigakit for repairs unless someone here is willing. I can't really do any major operations that will most likely be needed. I just change caps and do minor repairs =)

As Turran said, probably best send it to AmigaKit or someone else in the UK for repair. Most likely not a big fault. As a last resort I can also take a look.

Hi, thanks for the replies and yes, I have tried, several times, to get Amigakit interested in a repair.
I have emailed them numerous times to ask whether, with a list of the problems, a fix was possible.
All I have ever received is an automated reply telling me that someone would be in touch - sadly, in over a year, no one has...

@RichyV

Hi

Please pmail me here and I will provide the email address of our Technician. We would most probably need to see the board to ascertain the problems and advise further from there onwards.

Thank you.
