Anyone got a new GVP 4060 card?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has ordered and received one of the new GVP 4060 cards? I was about to order one but then heard of some issues of people geting the to work on the A4000. I had heard of one person having issued getting his to work on his A3000 but this has since been resolved.

Thanks,

Robert

If it does not use "regular" SIMMS then you should pass.

I believe they do use standard 72 pin SIMMS.

The problem seems to be getting the cards to work with certain A4000s, which is a bit worrying and dissapointing. I'm reluctant to order one until I hear of people actually getting them to work with their A4000s.

The GVP 2060 and 4060 have always used regular SIMMs. The 2060 supports *both* standard and GVP specific, while the 4060 *only* supports normal SIMMs.

Robert, sorry to bring up an old thread, but do you have any idea as to what the cause of the issues with certain A4000s is (maybe a certain motherboard revision)?

Also, do you mind if I ask how the A3000 owner got his GVP 4060 to work?

I'd like to add any info to the unofficial GVP 4060/2060 site.

Thanks!
