There is SO much stuff on amiga that I don't know where to begin.

It looks like you were not very interesed in role playing games. Eye of the Beholder series are ideal for starting. Or maybe you'll like zelda style RPGs, I played Speris Legacy today, it's a top quality Team 17 game. Speaking of Team 17, have you ever played Worms or Project X? Project X recalled another shooter, Stardust, and Super Stardust both are very good titles. I can never stop speaking on this matter

Have you checked CodyJarrett's Amazing Top 20 Amiga Games thread?

You're right, I never really played role games until Baldur's Gate II... But I remember that Amiga mags where mad about EOTB when it came out... I'll give it a try... What about the Ishar series? Won many awards if I remember well.
And Worms DC is too GOOD! It's an endless pleasure to see those tiny creatures in a lemmings-like landscape blasting each other with devastative weaponry... Try it!

I'll check Cody's thread... looks like a good start!

Ishars, I still play them but finished none. Great graphics with ambigious storyline in a nice atmospheric environment. You WILL need a walkthrough to finish them, believe me I didn't know about any awards it won though.

Djay's recomentions are pretty good.

If you're into action games, you just HAVE to get the following games:

Apidya
Battle Squadron
Ruff 'n' Tumble
Robocod
Fury of the Furries
The Lost Vikings
Benefactor
Wizkid
All Terrain Race
Qwak
Desert Strike

erm.. I could go on and on and on..

for puzzle games..

Try out Gem'X and Zonked (AKA X-It), 2 great puzzle games for Amiga. Also, Benefactor, The Lost Vikings and Fury of the Furries are half puzzle games too

I'd call Benefactor more of a puzzle game than an action game.

Also a good puzzle game is Puzznic (I think X-it is a bit like it too)

Other good puzzle games
Bill's tomato game
Builderland
Click Clak
Deflector
Diggers
Humans
Jumping Jackson (half action)
LOCOMOTION WHOO HOOOO
Plubz
Pushover
Super nibbly

Red face

Gods? I've played this game a couple of times and, errm... I hope you'll not shred me into pieces but I really dislike it. The handling is a disaster imo. :suspiciou

I don't if you've got an A1200/CD32 or can emulate AGA, but Captive 2: Liberation is a great game. I believe the viewpoint could be compared to Hired Guns. This is what it says on the back:
"YOU must take control of your four 'droids and explore the city zones in an attempt to free the captives. Search for clues, gather evidence, live above or below the corrupt 'law'; the choice is yours. Justice must prevail!"
>Hours of digitised speech and CD quality music
>A cast of thousands to fight, talk or trade with
>Explore the cities using the innovative Vectomap 3D roleplaying system
>Real time 3D combat puts you right in the thick of the action
>Use your brain as well as your brawn to free the captives

The thing I found great about the game is that you can almost ignore the mission and just go around finding weapons and customizing your droids, then start the story when you want to.
Another few of games I've got in my Real collection (In other words I think theyre good enough to buy) are Diggers, Hillsea Lido and Road Rash. Two are self explanatory, and Hillsea Lido is a seaside sim which you may or may not like.

Captive 2: Liberation isn't AGA - it runs on an A500, but needs extra memory...

Was there even an AGA version? I thought I saw a review of an A1200 version that was basically the CD32 one on disks.

There were two versions - CD32 and floppy. The floppy version ran on A500s and A1200s, but needed some more memory.

You could also specify the level of detail when running off hard disk etc. The installer rendered all the graphics straight to hard disk from the single flat images.

It was a pretty decent conversion from CD32 to disk!
