MagiCMac and related Software
http://www.application-systems.de/magicmac/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagiC I used to have a registered copy for my old 68040 Mac, but have since lost it. Sadly I lost all the software I had for it too! :/ I would love to be able to re-aquire as much of my collection as possible. I tried to write the e-mail address provided on the page, but it bounced back. In the mean time I'm going to take the Demo and see if I can't get it to fire up in Shape Shifter. I recall being amazed at how fast it was in comparison to Mac OS, be it on an Atari STE, or running on a Mac with Mac OS hidden in the back ground, stripped of all unneeded components. |

I have an old collection of MagiC downloads, though I never registered the software and at least one of the archives turned out to be truncated.
I'll post a list of what I have, though many are the German versions, and I'll upload them for you if you're interested. |

Very interested! Getting the software is the hard part. Between my friend and I, I believe we "should" be able to find an old registered copy in our collections somewhere. I know I had a copy once...
Also MagiC itself and many of the apps can be manually translated into English with a Hex editor. |

Wow! Thanks guys, that brings it all back!
Much of the collection I have is older that this, so I'll sort out what's different and upload them to my box.net account for you to grab. |

Hi Leandro,
Those links are not working for me now either. The good news is that all those files are included in the archive at XDelusion's link above. |

Cool! Thankx for the additional ups!!! I'm glad to see some people are familiar with this, or at least interested.
Tis a shame I can't get it to work on Shape Shifter though. It would be interesting to see this running along side Amiga OS. Will test on my iMacs in time. In the mean time, I put a tiny little section devoted to MagiC on my page. If anyone can think of any links or info I should add, feel free to comment. http://starwarslegacy.net/MagiC.aspx |

If you are running Mac OS X on your iMacs, ASH, the publisher of MagiCMac, has released a version, MagiC Mac X, that will run under Mac OS X 10.4 or later. http://www.application-systems.de/ma.../download.html |

I have uploaded the MagiCMac 6.0 to 6.0.4 Update (German) and Macsound v1.2.0 (German) archives to my MagiCMac folder, and the Resolution Changer program for MagiC Milan (German/English/French) to my MagiC folder, as the links on the ASH download pages seem to be broken.

Okay here we go:
Lots of applications for Atari 32bit machines. Games are easily found elsewhere on the net. Just check the Atariz.zip file for many cool apps http://www..com/?zw34o3s7y57db |

The ASH MagiC Mac X download page offers a RAM-Disk for use with MagiC, but the link is broken.
So I have uploaded the RAM-Disk archive to my MagiCMac folder with a readme file (German). |

Digging this out after a long time, I wonder if there is some kind of trick to get MagiCMac to work under SS or Fusion, I think both these reserve the MMU which is needed for MagiC to work, so on Amiga it seems impossible to be achieved!
Please correct me if I miss something, I just thought of this (if it could be done) as a good solution for running some good old *serious* (not games, though) Atari ST stuff on a 68k Amiga, without the need of fancy semi-or-non-working ST emulators... |

Up again!
So, is there a way to get this thing work without MMU? Does anyone know if it's possible using some kind of trick to "fool" the software? It would be grand to see it running under ShapeShifter or Fusion on 68k real Amiga... |
