It's here! Super Wormy The Worm-Like Snake. v1.0
Hi all
Spent ages trying to track down the final bugs. Missed one big one. Even though the game is not AGA, it only seems to work on 68020+ and likes 2MB Chip Ram (I did get it running on 1MB CHIP and 1MB Fast...) the best. Argh. Dropped the ball somewhere along coding it.Maybe i'll find and sort that one day. But for now... ...v1.0 is released. Here is Super Wormy the Worm-Like Snake for Amiga. Albeit only slightly beefier ones. Boot the disk to play. Copy the disk (including the directory structure) to HD to play from there. SuperWormy - The Game WormyEditor - The Editor - Yes, you can make your own levels. The editor seems to work on all Amigas at least This is version 1.0. I'll fix anything I can that crops up. It should work on PAL and NTSC though at least. Happy worming... NOTE, fixed version 1.1 is at http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...98#post1416198 Last edited by Coagulus; 26 July 2020 at 17:00. Gonna try and be more careful coding the next game (which is progressing nicely) as i want that one to work on 1MB Amigas. Or 1MB Chip at worst. But hope this one both works for you and you enjoy it.

I got into the game but the music was not right and it was some gfx glitches and then crashed.

I guess i need a 1.1 version. Can others try it too. If you change the options to smooth scroll instead of smooth snake do the glitches go away? Last edited by Coagulus; 21 July 2020 at 23:24. Reason: Added more |

Awesome. Glad someone has been able to play it. Looks like it's mainly a WinUAE game until i can get it working on real hardware. Bah. I tried it on WinFellow and that didn't like it either. I'll sort it soon. But for the ones who can play it i hope you have fun.

Now all I have to do is finish version 1.1 . Which is almost done and appears to work with 1MB Chip with at least 1MB Fast. And Kick1.3! Maybe. Just ironing out the final tweaks... |

Haha the only thing updating is the executable which uses a different music player library. A working one which has the side effect of it working on more configurations. Still 2MB but only 1MB has to be CHIP.

I was wondering if in the new version update 1.1, can you make another choice where it says play level module? With the map editor you make all the levels and compile it as module.
<FileName>.Module for example then people can download the module files and select in the menu all the available modules to play from in a list. This way, people can make their levels and share it with each other. In fact, we can download the levels from aminet and someone might every week release new module levels (cough, that someone maybe me - whistles innocently -) and then have people play new levels on the game. That would be fun!! Yeah! Make it so please!! A person can make a thousand levels if they want too and it get compiled into one single .module file. So that module file can range anywhere between 10KB to even 100MB depending on the amount of levels in that module. OH PLEASE MAKE IT SO! PLEASE!! |

Hmmm. Too late for v1.1 (as that'll be released probably tomorrow as i need to get a fixed version out) but that's something to look into.

Congratulations for completing the project. That alone is cause for celebration.
Gonna bring it for the next retro meet-up with the mates. |
