Doom wad for weaker systems?

Is there somewhere a Atari Jaguar's Doom WAD file which would work with ADoom or Doom Attack? Or any other that time console version WADs?

These doesn't seem to work

https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topi...om-conversion/

Atari Jaguar Doom is reduced palette, simplified levels and textures, so it would perform better with 68020/30 level accelerators.

something like the NesDoom mod maybe? there are several total and partial conversions out there, many of which try to make for a more lightweight game, granted many arent "normal" doom and end up being something very different but still might be quicker to play?

Nesdoom mod

Theres also stuff like HocusDoom and many more out there, just have to find a decent custom wad site and try a few out there.

I couldn't get it run with ADoom. It really looks simplier.

There's some stupid posts on the net at the moment "Someone Managed To Get Doom To Run On An Amiga 1200"
but it doesn't say the spec or anything - probably just some stupid click bait.

I think the latest version can load doom levels to some extent. No monster support though.

I've managed to do it last year:

As well as some 24 years ago.

Of course 68060 is not the minimum requirements.

ADoom runs even on 68020 Amiga with some fast RAM, but it is slow.

I know, I have two 68060 Amigas. In this thread I was hoping to get info how to get Atari Jaguar's or SNES' WAD work with 68020 and ADoom

stack 40000
Adoom -iwad Doom.wad -file Jaguar.wad
(Run via an IconX script)

ADoom = mouse control was lost, AmiDoom = no sound, DoomAttack = ok

But as they are PWADs I don't see them lightening the load
Or was that the original question ?
How to make a Pwad an Iwad ?

Thanks! Original question was; Some nineties consoles has a lightened version of Doom because lack of CPU power of those systems. Atari Jaguar's version was first and SNES version on made from it.

If these WADs would be supported by ADoom or DoomAttack, maybe they were more playable with weaker systems like 68030 CPUs.

We could do with the guy who’s doing the FastDoom release on PC to work his magic on ADoom or DoomAttack

https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=74886

It is significantly faster than standard Doom

That is reduced engine, not a simplified wad.

if it increases the fps, then same result, no?

Even without using potato mode or removing floor/ceiling textures etc, the base engine is 20-25% faster than standard doom. When your're talking 10-12fps then a 20-25% increase in base speed makes a big difference before you start removing stuff.

This would require some one to port this to Amiga. That could be pointless if it is hevily optimized for x86 CPU's.

Havin simplified WAD could just work and not a require machine specifig code.

Try turning off the floor textures for a pretty decent speed up.

Seems to be what the SNES version and it also ran in a 216x176 resolution with (32pixels being the status bar at the bottom) out of the SNES resolution of 256x224.

I'm glad he used an Amiga as the Development machine and all the tools were written in 68k Assembler, ARexx and AmigaDOS scripting language
