Master Axe

this game http://hol.abime.net/2418 is announced as ECS/OCS

But

- it needs 2MB chip to run, because main program locates itself at $140xxx something so it's ECS++
- it needs a 68020 to run because some code accesses words from odd addresses (whdload install fixes that issue)

When EPIC/whatever contacted me to create the HD installer in 1996 I was certain the game required AGA because of that 2MB chip thing. But it doesn't.

Very bad fighting game, enemies got bad habit of draining player health as soon as they get too close. Also player attacks are also weak, usually each playable fighter got one or two moves that can knock down opponents and for a whole game You should stick with them.
But graphics and music are nice, stages got nice 3D floor effect, backgrounds are colorful and got little animated elements, even fighters got nice sprites.
It is a kind of game that You play and realise it could be better if somebody who was making it make different decisions, there were talented people who do they part of work well.

Thank you for the info. I've added a note to the HOL entry.

Game has no protection whatsoever. So ADF would do. I didn't buy it, got a floppy so I could create the install, and probably ditched the floppy decades ago.

Take the HD install files, copy on a floppy, boot on A1200 and you're done. I think I could even create a 1MB chip version if this was a good game...

Ok .
Did you see that the game box on the net has an A500 sticker on its side. Not sure but looks like a reconstructed box.
