Looking for Asm software and iff converter installable on HD (kickstart >= 2.04)

Hi,

I'm looking for a stable software that run on KS > 2.04 and is installable on HD, I'd need:
  • Assembly compiler (I'm using ASM ONE 1.02)
  • IFF > Raw Converter (I'm using Kefrens IFF converter 1.35)
The annoying thing is that I run these software from floppy, while it would be more easy to install it on HD.

Is it possible to install software like this using Installer and then run from HD?

Thank you

ASM-One can be easily installed, just copy all files from the disk to a directory on your HD. Same for the IFF-Converter. There are better choices for that one if you want to run from HD though, I'd recommend PicCon and/or ArtPro, both can be found on Aminet.

As usual I recommend Barfly(BAsm+BDebug) and PicCon.
You'll need an editor of choice too - CEd has several macros for integrating with Barfly that you can find on AmiNet.

Check here and there for a list of available programs.

Here another page with some comments (google translate link)

After it's a question of tastes

Another vote for PicCon, runs great from HD indeed too.
I use Devpac 2 at the moment but would like to switch to ASM One in the future.

Found this ASM-One historical lecture in my bookmarks (browse the site for latest ASM-One & more info)

ASM-One 1.02 Manual & DevPac 3 manual.
