Another modern monitor supporting 15kHz - AOC 24G2U

Hi all.

I've found another modern monitor which works well when hooked up to an Amiga via a RGB to VGA adapter (mine is the buffered version from AmigaStore.eu).

The monitor is an AOC 24G2U. It can also be configured to a 4:3 screen ratio, and has built in speakers. All the Amiga's main screen modes work well (including DBLPAL/DBLNTSC), apart from Interlace modes which are displayed but flicker quite badly.

Vertical banding is visible - I'll have a play with some settings to see how much it can be eliminated.

Here's a few pics and a video of it running SlamTilt Pinball. I switch between screen sizes in game to demonstrate the monitor coping well with the change.

does SHRES work ? For the vertical banding there’s a VGA adapter being sold on AmiBay that helps.

Not in a usable way, no. The monitor accepts the frequency and the screen is stable (no flashing), but unfortunately the text is illegible.

Just tried MULTISCAN: Productivity (640x480) and that's working fine, with a nice stable image.

Na, didn't help. When VGAOnly is in there, super 72 reports "Input Not Support".

Nice find. The Original G2U isn't available anymore around here but there's a G2U5 in some stores. I just wasn't able to find a technical difference, but given it's another model number it's a bit of a gamble to just buy it on a hunch ?

I heard the vertical banding can be fixed changing the resistor values of the 3 RGB resistors in the adapter
do u know something about this?
