A cult favourite from France. You play as Nicky, whose grandfather has been kidnapped by an evil witch and all the creatures of the forest turned against him with her spell. Time for a rescue quest! You can jump on enemies or shoot them. Hold down and fire to use a bomb. Hold fire to use a special weapon.

I'm back. Nicky seems to have sparked some interest. I've had a proper go and almost got level 1 down, and a lot of level 2, died on level 3 when a teleport dropped me above water!

Despite that, I think this is a really good game. Got a lot more exploring to do.

There does seem to be a couple of parts in each level where it teaches you what to do through a cruel death. I'm gonna use the passwords for the levels I've reached to explore the best routes a bit before starting over for a score again.

Well, I did get a bit further and ended up with a 5,000 points bonus room that seemed to be a dead end (only a death exit that I could find). Don't really like that the game is slapping your wrist for exploring (or so it seems).

Took me a while to get out of that room. If you want a spoiler read on --- there is another route out the room, bump the ceiling.

Really like the frog boss. I made it to level 5. Looks like it's a labyrinth and full of big and shooty enemies. Not sure how much further I can get.

I actually wasted my last two lives in that room, so thank you for the hint. I guess I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can get to 200k.

So I got through that labyrinth section this time, defeated the spider boss on my last life and suddenly everything starts to shoot! Once you understand all the ways you can progress it's quite fun to play the game.

Finally got round to posting my score achieved on my stream. The fact it took me over a week is probably quite telling when it comes to my enthusiasm for this game. Far too long, sprawling, repetitive and annoying.
