you should upgrade whdload and also the syndicate slave. The saves are now in a single file (Bert re-wrote a proper nonvolatile.library emulation)
Nothing is done about the speed yet. But in retrospec it's not surprising that there are issues. I already fixed Bullfrog Populous 2 in that aspect. |

so always get the latest slave. The change wasn't explicit in the history, I admit.

I use these tooltypes as a workaround to slow down the game (ECS normal version, not the CD32 one):
slave=syndicate.slave preload (NTSC) ExecuteStartup= ExecutePostDisk=UAE-configuration cachesize 0 cpu_speed real cpu_throttle -700 (given you have C:UAE-configuration from full WinUAE packaged under Amiga Programs dir...) Last edited by hexaae; 18 April 2022 at 17:52. |

@jotd
I tested CD32 version and noticed a strange random issue: WHDLoad fails to find cdtv.device 1/5 times I launch the salve 2.6 (this is what SnoopDos reports). There is no crash quit or requester, just a silent exit to WB. WinUAE 4.9.1, 060 AGA P96-RTG, 8MB chip, 256MB fast... Last edited by hexaae; 18 April 2022 at 18:05. |

If you can detect it with snoopdos, then it's a whdload problem, not a slave issue

Is there a way to force a log with WHDload and see what happens? BTW, I noticed I can't select language at startup if I choose "skip intro" |

Done some more tests with older slaves... It started with slave 2.5 and CD32 version.
Up to slave 2.4 included the game always started correctly. |

please don't mix issues. the cdtv device thing is not the slave fault. Language selection probably is. Can you open a mantis issue?

Ok, after further testing I've found these issues in CD32 version:
a. F1 freezes game (sound and mouse still working...) b. random quit to WB after intro (or skipping it with startup option) at least 1/5 you run the game slaves 2.5 or 2.6. c. I can't select language at startup if I choose "skip intro" startup option Should I report all of them in a single Mantis bug tracker? EDIT: done! Last edited by hexaae; 18 April 2022 at 19:34. |
