Problem setting new keys in the Input section

Hi im quite new to the amiga revival

But I have WinUAE working well and understand the workings of it quite well

My Problem is (Im sure someone can help me out as Im just doing something stupid)
I want to change the keys for games and have tried choosing Configuration #1
for keyboard and map the new keys I want, it shows up as done..
So I save the config to a file..

Doing this also greys out the Game & IO Ports section for Amiga mouse Port 0 and 1
I was using Mouse Port 1 = PC mouse and Mouse Port 2 as Keyboard Layout B, and the keyboard worked fine for the pre-defined keys.
Not sure if it makes a difference what was there beforehand?

While on the input page having the settings still showing my new predefined keys I press OK and start up WinUAE.

Loads up as normal but now I still have mouse but no keys work at all

what am I doing wrong here?
I have to be missing something!

Can anyone help me with this problem, I thought this would be a simple matter of know how with the experienced ppl on this board?

If someone could describe how they get the custom keys to work, I should be able to source the problem im creating

Make sure keyboard is enabled = checkbox next to device name is ticked (top right corner of input-panel)

Fixed.

It wasnt that no keys were working at all, just the keys I was mapping for emulating the jostick as a KB, were not working
Solution was mapping the keys to Joy2 not Joy1
All good now..

I dont remember seeing anything in the Documentation about mapping keys to joy2 only for KB use?
Sorry if there was and I missed it
