Vesalia response time
What is the best way to get in contact with Vesalia regarding warranty issues?
I have not been able to get my ACA620 to work properly, so I have sent two mails to them as I think I need a replacement. The first mail was about a week ago but I have not heard from them yet. Are they always this slow to respond? |

It really seems to depend. Sometimes you get an answer more or less immediately, some times it can take quite a while. I've never had an issue that was not resolved in the end though.

Was just wondering if maybe other forms of contact was faster than using mails. I prefer mails, so I guess I'll just wait some more..

They take forever to reply to emails. If you call them though, they are quite helpful.

I have called once and they did answer straight away. Spelling out names and addresses over the phone is annoying though.

I've heard that problem is language, so use google translate to translate english to germany
Spelling names and addresses over phone is annoying, that why I allways google this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_phonetic_alphabet before I call |

There is one person over there who speaks English, so you just have to ask for him. I think they are used to people calling from all over the world.

Got problem with Aca620 too. Brown socket is very poor quality. You need to find sweet spot to get it to work. If I move my Amiga then it don't work, it's not a good fun if you need to open case every time you wanna use Amiga. I also need to contact Vesalia.

@lukassid
Have you also tried carefully cleaning the chip legs with IPA to ensure that contacts are reliable? |

I have cleaned the pins of the CPU many times now and it seems to get a little better every time I do it, so I think this is where the problem lies. In a 21 year old computer it is probably hard to get a good enough connection. I think I've cleaned it 5 separate times now both with a brush and cotton buds. There are also no more creaking noises and it feels much more 'right' when it pops onto the CPU now. Unfortunately it's still not 100% stable. Memtest today got an error after about 30 mins in a marching test, where it read '5555' when it expected 'aaaa', which indicated that it read the value from the previous write. Nah, I'm not bashing them or anything. Just used to quicker response times, although with many smaller german companies it can be an issue if you don't write to them in german like utri007 writes. |
