Thanks for making these parts, they look very good. I ordered a trapdoor off you some days ago to protect my expensive accelerator.

Another product idea for you. What I would really like is an expansion port cover for USB ports. Like the RapidRoad. At least single port (I have not measured if the two-ports-toghether option will fit). I have been thinking about ordering a plain one and drill the holes and openings myself.

Hi Tech, thanks for the feedback, sorry i missed your post but several months, are you still looking for a solution to the issue?

Here's a pic of one of the port covers fitted, protecting & helping cool a nice blizzard 060.

Btw, can anyone else see the free shipping offer in the link above...? It's offering me free shipping for the next couple of days, I think it applies to everyone.

I love the 060 one... By the way you have one with fan mount points, any chance you can "mix" the 2 designs ???

Awesome

Seb, The fan version was a custom request from someone and is specific to the Blizzard 060 - I could put the passively cooled 060 version up if you like, or if you have that card maybe make the text to one side of the fan, which reduces airflow through that section. How did you imagine it looking?

I have the Blizzard 1260... Hence my request. :-)

Yes, I understand the fan mount reduces the area where "060" can be written. I imagined it can be made smaller and centered in the largest free area left beside the fan mount...

*** edit

Having said that when I look at the 3D model, there is no much space left... Maybe with a narrow font?

Thanks man, appreciate the support, I know the free shipping makes it a lot more inviting, esp to those in europe, the US seems to get a much better deal, I've been on shapeways since '08 and AFAIK, this is the first time they've done this so take advantage of it while you can.

I bought one of the original covers for my blizzard 1260 last month. It's great. I like being able to cut away certain sections easily in order to get access to the oscillator and mount a passive heatsink.

I like your fan mount version too.

I'd really like to see the mods and what you did with it The fan version came about because it was a request from someone who had been experimenting with trying to fit a fan into it the first version, to cool his 060.

TjLaZer, sure I could do that, don't know whether it might be best to make text like an outline, rather than filled so as to keep airflowing as much as possible... does that mean that you'll get one if I do?

Again i'm more than happy to make custom versions for people, there's no extra charge for that.

(I'd love to be able to do this for whole cases too, perhaps in future with the new generation of print tech coming along....)

Steve I've just ordered one of your fan versions. I have a 40x40x10mm fan in my case already but I'm not convinced it's doing too much so I think relocating it onto the front of 060 using your cover is a good move. My 1260 already has a fan on the reverse side, fitted by Stan on amibay, so two fans (one on each side) will be interesting!

I'll take a photo of the existing setup for you, although all I've done is used some scissors to snip away the mesh over the cpu and the oscillator so I can fit a heatsink and remove / replace the oscillator easily. I think a second fan will do more than the heatsink does and will aid moving air from outside the case to over the 1260.
