WinUAE handling of ECS:BPLCON1:DOFF flag
Hi Toni, et al.
Would I be correct in assuming that WinUAE merely logs when the ECS:BPLCON1 ![]() Only reference I could find was in "blitter.c": ..... if ((bltcon1 & 0x80) && (currprefs.chipset_mask & CSMASK_ECS_AGNUS)) write_log ("warning: ECS BLTCON1 DOFF-bit set\n"); ..... But it doesn't actually appear to turn the "D" channel off? Have you found any software that actually turns this enable bit off? Cheers, Red |

None found and it does not switch D-channel off. It "disconnects" Agnus internal D-channel data register, all blitter DMA writes now get "bus noise" (whatever data that was in chip bus previously) written to D-channel's address.
I don't see any practical use for DOFF-bit except for spying bus data without extra hardware ![]() |
