Is anyone interested in an Amiga OCS/ECS demoscene discord server?

Hello there!

I'm pretty new here, but active in the demoscene since almost 30 years, but some backlog of release on various machine (but mostly win32 intro).

Since the Amiga 500 was my first computer and of course my favourite one, I only want to code demo on it now!
Talking about old and new OCS demos and code on a dedicated space for us without the noise of the others platforms would be great!

I'm a bit fed up by the lack of quality content and discussion on the existing demoscene discord servers.

Tell me if you are interested and if you want to join if we create it

Love your Win32 retro inspired demos!

I too wish there was a more central place for OCS specific demo-making discussion. EAB seems like the best place so far but it can be pretty quiet for long stretches. I wonder if a Discord channel would find enough of an audience.

yeah EAB seems to be the best place, but sometimes the format of the forum is a bit less "interactive" than a live chat. since there is not much people on IRC these days (I'm always on IRCnet #amigascne, but there is not much activity sadly) I think there will be more people on a simple and small discord server

The problem with Discord is that it's not indexed by the search engines.

Its kinda like a modern irc with voice chat and streaming/screen sharing all built in.

I would love to have a dedicated discord for the OCS/ECS, Just set it up and let it grow.

Why don't we just use the Amiga Discord Server? We can simply ask to create a new channel in there.

Yeah. Maybe better to combine things for a bigger audience than having multiple places to register, check, post. However, I still struggling with finding infos on other Discord server once they gets bigger. So both ideas have pros and cons.

If it is coding then join the Amiga game dev channel. I'm sure we can add a couple of demo dev rooms.. In fact, anyone who joins and let's me know I'll create it (or. Mcgeezer/dutechretro will)
