Galactica - strategic turn-based game to play on the WB
Galactica is an Amiga version of the strategical Linux game Konquest. The goal is to dominate every single planet in the galaxy, defeating your opponent. The game runs on the Workbench screen.
Download: http://www.bitplan.pl/amiga I made this game for myself a while ago, but it never had a public release. Recently I added some new features and fixed some bugs, and felt it was a good time to share Galactica with the Amiga community Good luck, Conquerors! Last edited by Vojo; 16 March 2021 at 08:51. |

Very cool! I will give this a spin tonight! Is this similar to Advanced Space Battle (on the C64)?

I like this indeed
Unfortunately I get random crashes. Once quite early, once after playing for 20 minutes where it just creates an access error I think it is and offers me the reboot or suspend option, but crashes anyway. This is on the second system in my signature (B1230). I may need a whdload type version to play on mine, but dont know if that is possible as this plays in a workbench window? |

Tried the new version but this one locks up completely after 3 - 6 turns for me - no error message just freezes.
On the last one I got a yellow recoverable guru then went back to the game which then froze before I could click send. Always seems to be just before I hit send. |

As I said it might be my system (3.9) as when I ran it on a 3.1.4.1 based system it seemed ok except for graphic corruption in the bottom right panel. I am rapidly getting addicted to this game ..... |

Played through to completion on my 3.1.4.1. system, but crashed on turn 46 on my 3.9 system.
Thoughts if you were looking for any developments: Maybe allow 'player' to be named? High score table for those who beat the computer and the (least) number of moves? Difficulty level options (how many worlds the computer starts with) But those are just thoughts as I am enjoying it as it is so thank you for sharing. |

Or you can set for everything by add the following to your "S/Startup-Sequence", which typically ranges from 4096 to 40000 bytes: Code:
Stack <size> |

Nice game, and strangely addictive. Perfect for coffee breaks. Thank you!
Now, how about adding one or two snippets of code to take this to the next level...Master of Orion? |

Tried changing the stack to no avail - also tried this on my 060 RTG amiga running 3.9 with the same results.
Could someone else running 3.9 see if this works for them? Cheers C |
