PCMCIA SD card adapters...?
Was wondering if this sort of thing would work to avoid needed CompactFlash cards or adapters...?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Genui...z/262483301569 Has anyone tried anything like this, or is there a reason it seems to be CF usually? |

I would not pay that price for one. £18 delivered is taking the piss when you can get them from China for £3.

The cheapest SD to PCMCIA on the above list is €20 odd, btw.
All the cheap ones are CF to PCMCIA. (I wouldn't mind a cheap SD to PCMCIA, but I don't need one at all, I just sort of want one) |

I mistakenly got a type II (Thick) of one of those
so I split the adapter (cheap) to fit the fat card and keep it together with an elastic band - LOL |

The "Mercedes" SDHC card reader does not work with the Amiga. I bought an older Altec 4 in 1 card reader and it works. But it only supports SD cards max 2GB. Don't know a working SDHC card reader?

I bought a Delock 38in1 card reader (PN: 91403). This card reader is 16-bit (see sticker) and can do SD, SDHC and SDXC. I tried it with 2GB Sandisk, with 32GB Sandisk and 64GB Samsung micro SD. Everything works fine. Just watch out for SDXC cards, I had to reformat it from exFAT to FAT32 for the Amiga to read it. I also saw this Delock in the photos in 20in1 or 33in1 variants. If you see it somewhere, make sure it is a 16-bit variant. It was also produced as a 32-bit card, which has a different product number and the label shows "32-bit CardBus". Of course, the 32-bit does not work on the Amiga.

I have the ‘Mercedes’ one and it works like a charm. I haven’t tried it with an SD card bigger than 4Gb, but it’s only for transferring small files backward and forward so I feel like that’s not necessary for me.

Daft question, but I've been away from this stuff for a loooong time.
I have a CF PCMCIA adapter (sorry so not SD!), and if I put a working CF card into it my A600 doesn't recognise it. Do I need to add some drivers? The CF card is RDB, not FAT. It's a transcend card (8 GBP) and I had some CF cards kicking about from old digital cameras. Card Prep recognises the device and asks if I want to format it - which sort of defeats the purpose I guess. |

Yes, you need certain drivers (FAT95 and CFD133) and there are certain compatibility issues. See https://sites.google.com/one-n.co.uk...ide?authuser=0

Card reader Digigear SDXCPA can do SD, SDHC and SDXC with Amiga. I tried it with 2GB Sandisk, with 32GB Sandisk and 64GB Samsung micro SD. It has Push-Push technology.
