Can we not do something about the boxart being centred vertically? That looks really shoddy especially with the game info panel being aligned to the bottom.

Yeah I guess.

...probably can remove the "Game Info" section; as that's just more work for me ATM that I don't have time to spend on.

Problem is that all the boxart images are different aspects. I made it this way because some of the D&D artwork is really long. That artwork fills the gap perfectly. Everything else is auto scaled to the correct aspect which is what DamienD wanted.

The Game Info box can easily have a paste option added to it so text can be added (maybe on a private build for DamienD). I've done it on my WHDLoad launcher whilst I finish it's database.

Just align the boxart to the top, game info to fill the remaining space and then allow the user to use a splitter to resize the titles space, and resize the window. That would probably work.

I like what you've done, but the layout makes me want to make my own.

For me, I would move the filter and the floppy speed under the main list. Resize the title and screenshots. Center the cover art. Add the option to ignore the aspect ratio and use the full height of the window. Finally add the game info to a pop-up accessed from the right click menu. I could add window resize but it's a pain and quite time consuming. With all the other stuff I'm working on and life in general, it might take a while to do.

Where to download the latest version of DDLaunch and UltraMiggy? Are both tools the same thing? Where do they differ?

Do they start the game (through WinUAE) or these tools are just a database/directory listing stuff?

Ultramiggy is a long way off from release. Both are based off the same code but work in different ways. DDLaunch launches Damien's original configuration files and doesn't change anything. Ultramiggy launches a custom config and loads straight into the whdload game. I'm also using Ultramiggy to create a full WHDLoad database and my screenshot archive. I might strip out that code and put out an alpha version. Just need the time at the moment.

DDLaunch looks for a file called "___Info.txt" in the game folder. It can be as long as you want, just in plain text.

DDLaunch v0.8a



Here's an update to DDLaunch. I've squished a few bugs, taken onboard a bit of feedback and added a few features.

This is what's new...

1. Added full window support
2. Fixed the aspect of the game cover image
3. Fixed the compact mode DPI scaling
4. Fixed the stretch window vertical scaling
5. Fixed a crash when starting DDLaunch outside of the DD WinUAE folder
6. Added save settings to the menu
7. Added a game loading splash screen
8. Fixed a bug in floppy speed slider which always defaulted to 100%
9. Added floppy speed to the prefs file
10. Removed the game info box and support (not needed)
11. Added quit confirmation to the close window button

I'd beg you to consider a "do not show again" (or similar) setting for the quit confirmation!

I've uploaded a new version where you can turn off the quit confirmation windows. The option is in the menu and saves in the prefs file.
