Golden One Millionth Amiga
This may have been covered before, but I visited the National Video Arcade Museum today. I've taken my time to do it, because I live in the same blooming city!!
Anyhoo, they've got the one millionth Amiga in there, complete with gold finish and a certificate of authenticity, signed by David Pleasance himself. I've tried to clean up the photos as best I can, but the lighting is designed for humans, not cameras... I also saw a BBC, so had to do the necessary... I was caught, but luckily by another Amigan!! |

That's great! I knew about the gold 1 millionth Commodore 64 but I've never heard of the gold Amiga.

Heh. Oddly, I did automatically type 'Donald' before realising my error and putting the correct name in!! Also, Donald's name is PleasEnce, not PleasAnce, for the pedants
Donald was born in Worksop, Notts, so technically a local lad For Donald, see also: You Only Live Twice (complete with moggy, not miggy) Fantastic Voyage (the original) The Great Escape ..and many, many others. </offTopic> |

This is a great machine, that possibly could never be sold for any value!
Altogether I believe they produced nearly 6 Million Amiga 500's in the 5 years they produced them. Don't hold me to this though, as I could be completely wrong. Just remember reading something somewhere once that mentioned this. I know they sold at least a million in 1989 with the Batman pack. |
