Directory Opus won't start

I'm trying to Directory Opus on the HD of my A600.

When trying to start it I get the following error:

DirectoryOpus
Program Failed (error #8000000B)
Wait for disk activity to finish

I can launch it fine from disk.

I read that and updated setpatch is the solution, and I replaced the original one, but it still doesn't work.

I'm on Kickstart 2.05, I read that it works with Kickstart 3, but I don't have that. Should it not be possible to get this to work even on 2.05 though?

Try to check your harddisk for viruses. You may be surprised. I'd bet on Happy New Year 96.

naujoks, Dopus4 works well on Kickstart 2.0, but also on WB 1.3, it all depends on the version you are using, what is the version of Dopus4 you have installed?

In any case Dopu4 on A600 is a bit heavy, maybe it would be better to use HERE or an older version of Dopus2

Snoopdos is your friend.

Its likely a file it needs on booti up isn't there and instead of telling you, it just tries to continue.

Yep. Dopus 4.16 by any chance Bromigo!? If so it requires an FPU Mang!

I.e you need an expansion such as a Furia 020 with FPU. You won’t be able to run this on a stock 68000. Been there, done that.

Also as mentioned. Get hold of VirusZ and install the latest xvs.library and do a virus scan. I’ve had that “Happynewyear 96” virus and it causes all sorts of systems issues as it spreads

My guess is that you just copied the DOpus tool and not the other stuff DOpus needs. Mainly the dopus.library.
