Fantavision exported to iff/other format

Hi!
Does anyone know if there is a way of exporting the Fantavision animation to a different format so that one can make a gif of it in the end?

Are there any other programs that read Fantavision files?

I can suggest to capture the footage from WinUAE in single frames and then assemble it on the windows side, that is the fastest way i can think of.

Yes, thank you for the suggestion!
I've already tried that, and also screen capture with video. problem is that the files get quite large in size. And also the sharpness of the image disappear due to anti aliasing.

OBS seems to do a good job, just do not choose any smoothing algorythms in the codec and you should be fine

In a related but different topic i realized amiga seems to miss a more modern approached vector animation program (groups, timeline, keyframes, etc.) ; that could be handy for cutscenes and intros - am aware of the 50 polygons limit on a base 500 - as described in this Another World documentary - and also how they did somehow circumvented the limit

Thank you! I’ll have to look in to how to use OBS and see if that yields better results than QuickTime.

You can use some intra codec or lossless codec - they are designed to be fast (low CPU usage) and lossless will not introduce any blur (they should be pixel perfect) - it may be an issue with your configuration if you see some pixel alterations.

From the Fantavision - Stuff we forgot doc

LIVE! is a real-time frame-grabber, that connects to the Amiga.
With it you can digitize any image from a composite video source, like
VCRs, and cameras. This product is available for the Amiga by
A-Squared Distributions.
