Monkey Island 1 savegame issue

Using real A1200.

Anytime I make a save disk with MI1, it will never recover the save.

So I am somewhere in the game, save the game to a brand new disk. Reboot, reload MI and the save is corrupted. It just never loads.

I have tried downloading MI1 from internet again and recreating the ADF files (mine is original) onto some blanks. Exactly the same.

Any ideas? Disks format fine and the savegame disk creates and restores absolutely fine in Beneath a Steel Sky and Bloodnet.

Are you using DD disks?
