I have placed my Amiga 1200 in a tower, and only wired:
- Diskdrive - keybord - Org lights - mouse - screen and my modifided AT power suply (even if i place on a 1200 suply it gives the same) The prob. On power up it takes around a whole 30 secs before i get the "insert disk" screen ![]() When i load Wb 1.2 < one i got at hands first it does load WB but when i try to load the game Rick Dangerous 2, i get the trainer screen, when i try to load it futher i get a Red screen ![]() ![]() |

What kind of Floppy cable did you use since I presume the original from the desktop case was too short.

I think the machine waits for a hard-disk to spin up and be ready for use, that's why it delays...

With kickstart 3.1 an A1200 will wait 30 seconds before showing the insert disk picture. With kickstart 3.0 that delay is 9 seconds.
To remove that delay completely without attaching a harddrive, build this but use a 44-pin laptop ide connector instead of the 40-pin regular ide connector as your computer is an A1200 and not an A4000. The laptop ide connector has a 2.0mm spacing between each pin and the regular 40-pin ide connectors in the A4000 has 2.54mm spacing between each pin. You can find sucha connector for example here. |
