How was that tool called ? It reboots and execute a certain Script
Hi Folks.
I need your help to remember the name of a certain tool. It was used for example on games that needed the full chipmem. So you could double click on an script Icon in Workbench and after the reset it was doing what it has been told in a script. Lets make an example here: TheUnknownTool (it resets the Amiga but it follows the skipt afterwards) Echo "Jokey Smurf thinks he is really funny" Copy Smurfette to Torti Echo "But actually he is a threat for all of us AND himself" Execute JokeySmurf Echo "Poor Bastard" Cant remember how it was called it was just one file that made that magic happen. hmmmm, how was it called, stupid me. |

Thank you Thomas.
But that is not the tool i had meant. The one i thinking off is just one executeable file. The one file does all the magic. Hmm, how was it called. i cant remember.. runback..no..remrad..no...damn.. i cant remember It would useful for this stubborn game. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=102855 No big deal; i can start it with a little bit of CLI typing but it would be neat to just doubleclick it from WB and not worry about anything else Still, thank you very much Thomas. You are always so nice . Thank you for that |

Not a direct answer, but I seem to recall you can do this with a bit of scripting only. Mount a bootable RAD-like volume, copy a startup-sequence to it that starts the game, reboot. The recently re-released Blade (HOL) used this technique.
But you'll need a RemRAD after the game quits or a cold reboot to get back to normal afterwards. |

Blizrun which was thought for running things without Blizkick does exactly what you want to do. It's a set of scripts and with a very limited editing you can easily remove all the blizkick stuff from.

Not the Tool i had in mind They one i seek is one Binary file. Nothing permanent in the Startup-Sequence needed.
( I am very picky with every line that comes into my Startup-Sequence and User-Startup ) Its handcrafted and tuned to the extreme. hehe Still, thank you very much Lisko Greetings, Torti PS:Maybe i find it someday on one of those TRSI CD´s that i still have. Thank you so much guys Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 27 November 2021 at 23:44. Reason: typo found |

I've just found these two tools while looking for something different, but in both cases you need to add a line to the startup-sequence.
