The 1200 doesn't have a battery that needs removing?

No battery. You should check if the capacitors have leaked, though.

Looks to be in good shape from what anyone can see in these photos, but tough to say as I don't expect those caps have been replaced. Also, what's attached to the Gayle chip?

The caps don't look like they are bulging etc

How much is a caps replacement?

The surface mount caps don't bulge when they fail, and if they show any signs of leakage they're already causing damage. They should be replaced before they leak. When they start leaking, they leak downwards onto the PCB underneath the black base and start corroding the board where you can't see. Plenty of times I've removed capacitors that looked fine only to find corrosion hidden beneath them.

Your board doesn't look like there's any significant leakage, so it probably doesn't need any repairs, but it's impossible to tell for sure from the photos.

Recapping usually costs between £35 and £50.

If anyone wants to make an offer - it has an accelerator.....

What has happened to X1? Quite a dent in there.

Instead of caring how it looks, I would rather care if it works...

Anyway. Obviously it works fine. If no one can see anything we don't need silly replies
