Delfina flipper?

Anyone but me that has this audio-card (clockport version on an A1200)?

Mostly it works great, although I am admittedly only using it for output.

I have a minor issue with it though. It is somewhat crashprone when you use the DSP to decode mp3-files. Files that plays perfectly if you instead use software decoding, albeit with the drawback that cpu is much more taxed naturally enough. And it does not seem to be related to the file being played as it can usually be played on another occassion. Sometimes it does seem to be an incorrecly encoded file that causes it, but not all the time. In short, I've had a hard time trying to pinpoint where it goes wrong.

When it does go wrong, the computer either locks up or the output is very distorted.

It has been alleviated a lot by the latest version of the delfina library though, but not gone.

AHI 4.18, AmigaOS 3.2.2.1, AmigaAMP 3.34, delfina.library 4.19, mhimdev.library 1.5.

I believe there was an issue with delfina.library.
There were supposedly versions which liked to crash and later came the fixed one. Not really sure if it was the latest what worked the best for me, have mine packed away atm. But try different versions and let us know too if it makes any difference.

I have, it works better with 4.19 than with 4.16 which in turn works better than with 4.17.

It seems odd since it seems to be somewhat random but I'll do some more experimenting.

I had one back in the day in a A3000 attached to an XSurf clockport.

And mp3 decoding on it never was stable, playing mp3's using the WarpOS mpega.library ended up being more (actually, the only real usecase) practical once i got a CSPPC.

Heard back in the day that Jens lost money on the whole Flipper debacle due to the stability issues and people burning the cards out by reversing the clockport, and this also being the reason the whole Zorro attachment for it never came out.

The BPPC I had back in the day was essentially a dongle for the Blizzardvision card...

Personally I can't see how one can possible attach it the wrong way around but maybe that's just me...

I got the card second hand for about 25 quid so not a big deal in that respect. It would be nice if it was at least predictable when it would act up though.

I found the only way to get delfina stable was to add a lot of grounding to it
