Breakout-type game...
On behalf of somebody who emailed me. Anyone know the title of this game? It does not appear to be in HOL (at least, under bat and ball) so it might possibly be a shareware/pd game.
---- I've done my due diligence trying to find resources to remember the name of a game that I played many years ago as a teen, and I've come up blank. The style of game was 'breakout'/'bricks'. The game was a horizonal [i.e. not the normal vertical] breakout style; it had at least 70 some levels. What was most memorable to me is the music, which still haunts me to this date. (The human mind is only slightly more daunting than the encoding of Amiga floppy disks). I've searched multiple Amiga archive/preservation sites, but I've come up blank. All I remember about the game is that it had a number of alien-like floating enemies, a breakout theme, and great music. I seem to recall a good deal of the game was with the paddle on the right, but that's stretching my memory. There were definitely powerups of various types, etc. I vaguely remember something about 'rainbow', but again, that's a really strange and vague memory. ---- Anyone have any suggestions? |

Well, the guy just got back to me:
"Sorry took me so long to reply, I've been travelling nonstop the last two weeks. Unfortunately, Jinks isn't it, though it actually fits the description quite well. I shall continue to scour the web until I find the game one day perhaps. Thanks for your help." Any other ideas anyone? |

"That's it! Or at least, I am almost certain that is it... a bit of googling tells me that indeed that looks to be the game." Well done Was this an Amiga game or C64? Or was it PD? |

Well done IFW! I was going to suggest that perhaps it wasn't an Amiga game, but you got a hole-in-one.
