But this should be optional. Most console pinball games uses the dpad left+button combo. Which works very well.

Second that - i've never got along with the shoulder buttons as flippers.

Request additional pad support for Second Samurai, I see Solo has already submitted a Mantis ticket with the same idea.

http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=3311

Support for weapon change at a very minimum (for both players) would be great, as would jump on a separate button.

I'm almost tempted to tackle the job myself, but I'd need source.

Yes, that's my proposition submitted some time ago. It would be nice if someone could add more buttons support.

I was surprised that the WHDLoad slave for Lion King does not have second button jump support. Psygore did a custom CD32 version for me some time ago that includes such a feature, but of course that only works from CD - not from an HDD.

Hey there, I play the Dizzy games a lot and have found Treasure island Dizzy with CD32 controls great however there is an issue... is it possible we can get a 2 button version? as I like to use it on my Vampire and the Vampire dosnt support CD32 controllers and is unlikely to... I have tried and if you press the second button it acts like your pressing the quit combination on the CD32 controller and exits the game. Also the other Dizzy games would be great with Jump added to a button and removed from up.

nothing to do with vampire, vampire is an accel board right? Are you using whdload version with CD32 pad ?

Games behave like that when they assume a joypad but get a joystick instead. In that case, second button is seen as "all buttons pressed". It happens a lot with some non-lowlevel library CD32 titles (James Pond 3)

but whdload versions have joypad detection it should not do that.

The Vampire 4 standalone dose not support CD32 controllers this is from the makers them selves.

Okay then this is a nightmare if autodetection doesn't work. It means that EACH whdload slave must have an option to force 2 button joystick...

I also have another idea (that needs to rebuild all slaves too but it's already easier to do...): if ALL buttons are seen pressed at the same read when a joypad is detected, it means that it's not a joypad. Not a great risk of doing that by mistake...

Which games would you like adapted first? I don't guarantee that I'll bump all games with joypad support that I've adapted (there are A LOT of them)

Treasure island dizzy mainly... I dont seem to have any trouble with other games, Superfrog and Zool both work fine with a 2 button controller.

in that case it's just a matter of supporting 2-button joystick where only joypad is supported. Not a problem, and well within my objectives.

I can fix Treasure Island Dizzy. I have Codetapper's source, I know how it's done => doing it => done TreasureIslandDizzy.zip

(This game is using an old version of ReadJoyPad without detection of 2 button vs joypad, in the meantime 2-button joystick detection has been added)

don't hesitate to open mantis tickets for games that have this particular issue. I'll fix them in no time if I happen to have the source code. http://mantis.whdload.de

Jotd, I always wondered... Some games are slightly enhanced on the CD32, with pad support and extra gfx but playing them on the WHD version lacks the CDDA Music. Is there a way to "mix" gfx and CD32 gameplay with classic Amiga music ? For example Brian the Lion is greatly improved on the CD32 IMHO with the CD32 pad support and extra levels but it lacks in game music like in the A1200 version (great music btw).

Same goes for Kid Chaos also. The CD32 is AGA, gfx are a bit more polished than the floppy version (Floppy AGA version was never released), but it lacks the in game music.

It reminds me Fire and Nice have an in built option to choose between CDDA or paula music, along full CD32 pad support and greatly improved gfx on the CD32. Maybe they were thinking of a future WHD version .

as you said Fire & Ice CD32 release was superb and made for whdload.

If the game designers just blocked access to chip music, then it's easy to re-instate it. If the music code/data was removed, then it's going to be complicated to put it back in...
In that case it's better to stick to the AGA version if it exists (except when the CD32 has more levels, like Zool or Zool 2)

In most cases, when CD music was added, the floppy version had the infamous music OR sfx choice anyway (Zool). Or didn't have music at all (Oscar)

I was going to have a go at Brian the lion (up for jump is just stupid). If I see something about the music I'll try to fix it.

Thanks ! By the way I didn't knew Brian the Lion CD32 wasn't WHDified. Strange because this is one of the rare games that greatly benefits from the CD32. Extra levels and more effects on screen.

I really like it more when people open issues in mantis.whdload.de. So I don't forget the requests (I have closed issues that were 14 year old recently, okay this is a bad example this isn't always first in first out, actually atm it's rather last in first out because I know people care about the fix)

As you noted I've released a ton of updates (thanks to covid shit) this year. 95% of the fixes were done against a mantis ticket. I can't believe I'm using a bugtracker here where I hate them so much at work
