Monitor Bezels - Pack 1 final

Download is gone. Sorry.

It was fun doing this little project, but I didn't consider well enough that publishing these images might involve some very strange discussions. My fault.

I won't publish the last PM 'andreas' sent me. Although I'm tempted. Just this: If I wanted conversation of this kind, I would buy a time machine and travel back to the stone age.

Thanks to all who liked what I did and/or had something to criticize in a constructive manner. I appreciated that.

The bezels were updated to version 1.01.

Changes aren't too overwhelming. Just two next to invisible texturing issues were fixed.
To get the updated version, simply re-download the file from the above link.

btw.: thanks to everyone taking the time to thank me.

Hi there Ambermoon,

sorry if I sound like an idiot but what exactly are these and what are they for?
They look like they either expand a desktop screen to fit a full monitor area, or they surround the border area of the unused monitor area that the desktop does not use.

A bit of information would be handy and has probably been posted before but a refresher would come in useful for me and maybe some others.

The above wording sounds bad but its not meant to, I've overdone things today and that's about as good as I can do for now

All the best,
Allen.

These bezels can be used as overlay over the WinUAE output. By using them, you can have a 1084 monitor "around" your WinUAE output. This, of course, is only of use, if you want some nostalgia feeling while using WinUAE.

The ZIP-archive contains a small step-by-step by guide, which should answer most (hopefully all) questions regarding the exact installation procedure and how to use the bezels. It is very important to use the latest beta of WinUAE!

Hope that helps.

These are pretty slick, some good work Ambermoon. If theres any criticism, its that im not so keen on the yellow notes , but it all looks and works great.

Now the emu needs interactive bezel, so things like drive lights can work when accessed

Allen1 use this as an opportunity to keep up with the development of WinUAE

Toni has only just added this cool feature

Thanks for the quick reply Ambermoon,

this is something that looks like it would nicely tidy up the area where you can't get the desktop window to fill, I spend most of my playing time on my 1200 or Minimig but occasionally I use my lappy and WinUAE but I haven't really got used to what it can do.

Nice graphics by the way and if I used WinUAE more, then something like this would maybe appeal to me but my preference at the moment is for the 1200 and a big TV via scart RGB connection, mind you I still end up getting killed no matter what hardware I use

Cheers Cosmic,

that sounds great, I mainly use my 1200 for playing on but it is good to hear that WinUAE is still being improved and added to

Thanx... They look great. Brings so much nostalgia to Winuae..
Now only if I could find a C64 emulator that support overlays also...

Now I have to place a lamp by the upper left corner of my monitor, so the bezel shadows look correct

Thanks for the effort and nice job!

I have to agree here, unfortunately, since these are bit too distracting for the eye. Maybe it's because they're simply a bit too large??

Actually, they are smaller than in reality. While a standard 3M Post-It is 76x76mm large, these are 70x70mm.

Might be, but that only matters if the 1084 that you pictured uses REAL dimensions as well (I assumed that not). Otherwise, you'd also need to resize down the Post-Its proportional to that, i. e. by using the specified 1 : Y scaling.

Oh yeah, you're right. How stupid of me. How could that happen? I only used real dimensions for the post-its but not for the monitor. I'm such an amateur...
/sarcasm off

Since you dind't ask for any advice, this might be pretty unkind, but I'll give you one anyway: If you had invested a fraction of the time it took to write 5653 postings in this forum (mostly silly complaints, I guess) into learning 3d-modelling, I'm pretty sure you could have made exactly the image you like.
