Game On Exhibition at London Science Museum

Just a heads up for anyone who may find it interesting. I went to it yesterday. It was my revenge for going to a boring museum in the morning

There are a whole bunch of arcade machine classic you can play on (think space invaders, galaxian, centipede etc). Pong on a big screen, I beat my dad 10-0 and wife 10-1. The rest of the exhibition is mostly a selection of console games up to the present day. Not much Amiga there though, other than one running lemmings.

It will cost you £8.5/ticket to get in. Could easily spend several hours in there if you aren't dragging along someone who doesn't find it interesting.

Brian.

I couldn't possibly make it, but that does sound pretty cool. I've never been to a retro(ish) expo type thing before and it would be cool to be able to chat to people and play two player oldskool style. Most of my RL mates aren't interested unless the pad has at least 10 buttons :/

Ah I see it's back again! I went last year with the missus when it was in the Barbican. It was a good laugh, love playing Asteroids and Pacman on the original arcade machines. I still can't play defender for shit though

I'm in London this weekend... might pop in if I can.

ffs - Since I've moved to Yorkshire three years ago there seems to be more and more retro/console/computer exhibitions taking place in London, when there were originally none (public access anyway).

Ah well..... catch up on news here and elsewhere no doubt.

An offer I can't refuse. If I'm visiting my sisters in Essex sometime, I'll be knocking on your door. That would be

Move to London? Nooooo..... lived in Essex and worked in London for years. I'm sticking to the peace and laid-back nature of Yorkshire, although I STILL get strange looks from shop staff cos of my London accent. Tsk. Charming.

....also still waiting for sareks invitation for all of us to visit his retro games den.

God, I must have been to everyone of the PCW show at Earls Court. Bringing home bags of freebies like posters, stickers, etc, etc. Ahh, those were the days.
