winuae cdda access time too slow vs cd32
hi everybody,
i plyed many cd32 games these times and i feel that the winuae cdda access time is too slow... one exemple is with liberation cd32 , for me having the good result i had to cut the 3 fist seconds of the cdda played during the intro (in this cdda the sound is played directly)... I had a cd32 and i feel well that the cdda play too late.... i used winuae 2.5 beta18 but it did it with others versions... ad same result if i mount the iso through winuae or use daemon tools. If someone could make the test between a real cd32 and winuae ??? One thing is for sure the delay to hear the cdda is too long. Tony, do you have a way to improve cdda access , the delay is too long. Timing is perfect here, sound effects match animation, for example Liberation intro animation fireworks and "ping" pen sounds.
EDIT: Which Windows version? I know that waveout API is supposed to have big latency but at least under Windows 7+ it seems to be gone. (Yes, I really should replace it with something more modern..) Last edited by Toni Wilen; 12 November 2012 at 15:49. |

Enable logging, boot Liberation CD32, wait until intro CD audio starts playing, wait 10 seconds, exit winuae, attach winuaelog.txt.

Thanks. It is time wear huge brown paper bag for a while in public.
I have always said that images should be confirmed before assuming anything and of course my Liberation test image was bad! (bad audio track positions). Audio timing will be fixed before official 2.5. |
