How to boot A1200HD with WB floppy?

Hi all

I have an A1200 which I have recently fitted a laptop HD to, and installed WB3.1 on.

I am going through all my old stuff and some downloaded stuff and now have a problem.

The issue is with Pinball Brain Damage demo.

I installed it in Work:PinBD , but when I tried to run it, it is looking for the directory Work:PinballBD, which is now actually Work:PinBD\PinballBD\

As it reboots the system to set itself up, it is not finding the directory (and I have tried typing it in at the prompt) and is getting stuck on the blank AmigaDOS screen.

If I use my Working WB floppy, of course it tries to allow the HD to boot first, which it can't, due to the PinballBD thing.

I don't want to have to reformat and install my HD, and all the commands I've tried have not been recognised (it's 12 years since I used my A1200 for anything other than Galaga).

Is there a way to force the A1200 to boot from the WB floppy, without using the HD?

TiA

Send a message via MSN to cosmicfrog
hold both mouse buttons down then choose which boot device you want

though why your HD has higher priority than the df0/floppy drive is a pain but can be sorted

Put into your user-startup:
assign Work:PinballBD Work:PinBD\PinballBD
that's it.

It's sorted now, anyway guys - so thanks for that.

Couldn't even run it afterwards, as I didn't have the RAM - luckily my Blizzard 020/4 arrived today but turned out it was just a demo in any case - so not even worth the hassle
